Maria sings Dear Sweetheart lullaby to her daughter every night. Her little girl was hiding behind her and smiling. Dear Sweetheart is a song I wrote for my daughter when she was just a tiny new born baby. When we went home with her this song became a bed time routine.
Bed time routine is a good way to wrap up the day with the little ones. The tots and preschoolers always have a creative way to stay awake and they have requests for repetitive things.
One grandma told me that her baby granddaughter calms down at night when she listens to my audio stories. I think it is the routine that makes the little girl feel cozy and comforting.
I used to have a bedtime story for my kids. We even made up an opening theme song for it. The story was like a drama that went on and on.
