Chinese tones practice mom or horse. We are going to look at two important Chinese words and we are going to hear them in two sentences.
Young children listen to words and sentences without the disposition of tones. They hear a sentence and they say it. Sometimes it might be slightly different from what I say but with consistent input children “correct” themselves without any assistance. This shows that if they consistently hear clear, correct, and native-like Mandarin they will say it right.
For parents who are new to Mandarin, you can listen to authentic native speaker’s recording with your child together and practice. I’ve worked with parents just like you and they are all doing well. Your child could be your teacher and let her tell you if you are saying a word or a sentence correctly.
Look at the tone card as a reference when you listen to the audio.
Print out the tone card and practice with all the other tone cards I’ve shared with you. Listen to the audio and play “I Hear It!” The more you and your child hear it the better you are going to be.
Tones is never an obstacle for Chinese language learners. Singing and listening are the best ways to practice tones. Before you ask, what tone is that word, listen to the word three times and say it. If you are still not sure SING the word and be surprised.
