Being different or being unique?
The walk starts at the Third Street Promenade. Go and take a look if you are in Santa Monica. What is it? Farmers market. Not really.
A place to shop. Yes, but there is more. Cafe and restaurants. Yes, but there is more than that. There are the iconic Dinosaur topiary sculptures and fountains that stand there for decades in Santa Monica, California.
There are street performers. And, there is this cool shop called IT’S SUGAR. That sounds quite sweet. You might can also enjoy a break at BIBIBOP where serves a different kind of bibimbap.
Being different or being unique? Being both!
It is fun to be different. Being unique.
Kids are amazing. If you observe the way they play you might find out each child can play with the same toy in a different way. Creativity, that is.
Your child prefers playing with playdough. Then use playdough as a way to connect playing and learning. Your child does coloring outside of the lines. How fun is that! Ask her if she has story for doing that. You might be surprised to hear what she has to tell you with her masterpiece coloring.
How about learning? Every child is different and unique. The best way to help children to learn is to encourage them to explore. Providing your child opportunities to learn with visual, auditory, reading/writing, and kinesthetic tools and resources.
So, how about not just feeding our child with one learning tool but all learning support!
-
Visual: Let her see what she is learning. Use posters, visual tools.
-
Auditory: Let him hear it! Let’s hear the stories and the songs. Use CD/MP3/ Streaming tools.
-
Reading/Writing: Have fun with text. Read and write. Use reading and writing as tools.
-
Kinesthetic: Engage her with hands-on activities. Use hands-on activities as tools.
What can you apply this to introduce a new language to your kid?
