What are languages for?  This is actually a good question for language learners. You can start with everyone’s first language then extend it to the target language. This can give children a different perspective of learning a language.

In general, languages are for communication. In spoken words and in written text.

Also, language is one of the most important parts of a culture. Understanding a language helps you see the why behind the thoughts, values, and logic. Cultural exploration is always a fun and exciting part of the Language learning journey.

Chinese Langauge has a reputation as one of the most “difficult” languages in the world. But, the fact it is just different. not difficult. It is different from the language you speak or the languages you know.

If you talk with kids or adults who have taken some time to study the Chinese language with a trained and experienced Chinese instructor they will tell you learning the Chinese language is fun and not as difficult as what people think.

How about Chinese writing? It is also not as challenging as you think. There are clues in the words. The more Chinese words you learn the more you can decode.

The beauty of the Chinese language is the sound, the words, and the bridge to the rich culture. This is true for all languages.

Chinese children and adults in China and Taiwan consider learning English well as one of the top skills for career development and advancement in the local workforce and global market. Therefore, it is equally important for the rest of the world to see the value of providing opportunities for children to learn the Chinese language and culture at a younger age.

Understanding each other’s language is one of the first steps to build a bridge between cultures, connect on a deeper level, and communicate with the words that can touch the heart.
